Peach Jam on Artisan Bread

So, now that it's the end of the week, the peaches are getting a little mushy and MaMa figured she better use the rest of them up before they go bad.  We only had about 5 left, so we made up our own little simple recipe for a small batch of jam.
We made a loaf of our favorite Whole Wheat Artisan Bread (found here) just so we could try out the jam.  I must say that warm, fresh baked bread with homemade jam is one of the best and simplest joys in life.  Add a little cream cheese and it's even better!

Here's the recipe for the jam, we realize there aren't any whole grains in the recipe, but we're trusting that you'll make the artisan bread to go with it.

Ingredients:

1 tsp vanilla
1 Tbps lemon juice
1 Tbsp honey
dash of cinnamon
dash of ground nutmeg
3/4 c sugar
5 peaches - pealed, pitted and chopped

Directions:  Put all of the ingredients in a sauce pan, stirring to combine.  Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.  Boil for 15 minutes, stirring occassionally.  Mash fruit while boiling.  Boil additional 5 to 10 minutes.  Pour jam into containers.

We made just a small batch, as we only had 5 peaches we needed to use up, so we just placed the jam in a empty (and clean) jar that we had.  We'll use it in no time!
