Whole Wheat Chocolate Muffins

Need a morning, chocolate pick-me-up?  MaMa says there are some mornings where she needs a little more than just her coffee to wake up...those mornings call for chocolate, especially Monday mornings!  So she came up with these yummy little muffins for just that purpose.
I'll eat them anytime though...a tastey treat (and fairly healthy snack) for any part of the day!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 c Joseph's Grainery Soft White Whole Wheat Flour
1/3 c sugar
1/4 c cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 c apple juice
1/4 c butter, melted
1 T vinegar (don't worry, you can't taste it)
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 c chocolate chips

Directions:  Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.  Combine the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl, then add the wet ingredients, once it is mixed well, add the chocolate chips, folding them into the batter.  Pour into muffin tin (greased or paper cups) and baking for 16 to 18 minutes.

  4. I hope you don't mind but I'm using this recipe as a starting point for a post tomorrow (September 8, 2011) on The Chocolate Cult. I'm linking to your original recipe.
