Whole Wheat Banana Bread

First, let me tell you how we love banana bread...especially banana bread with chocolate chips in it.  This recipe from our friend Dorothy in Ritzville, WA is no exception, we love it too!  If you read closely, you'll see we're making an announcement of things to come here at Joseph's Grainery.  :)
Ingredients:

2 large ripe bananas
1/2 c buttermilk
1/4 c butter or margarine
3/4 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg
1 tsp soda
1 tsp salt

Directions:  Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Mash bananas and stir in buttermilk; set aside.  Beat together butter or margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.  Beat in egg.  Mix together flour, soda and salt.  Add alternately with banana mixture to creamed mixture, stirring to combine.  Spoon into a greased loaf pan.  Bake for 60 minutes.  Cool in pan 15 minutes.  Remove and cool on rack.

Did you figure out our surprise?  Yes, we will be adding a Joseph's Grainery brand whole wheat flour to our product line up in the next month or so.!  We're still working through all the red tape to make sure we follow all the rules, but once that's done, we'll have Whole Wheat Flour that is milled fresh for your order.  You can't get better than that!  Keep checking back for updates.
